School & Colleges

‘Llain’ has various accommodation options to sleepover 100 people spread between eight, two bedroom ‘self contained’ cabins, our bunkhouse sleeping 35 in rooms of up to 10 as well as smaller ‘leader’ accommodation. We are also upgrading other accommodation including the farmhouse bunkhouse sleeping around 20 for a little more comfort, and our Finnish lodge overlooking the lake for a touch of luxury for smaller groups. We also have a camp site with hook ups and can provide a pre erected ‘canvass village’ on request.

We have a whole range of adventure activities available on site where we have a climbing wall, high ropes and zip wire, also wet activities on the lake including Kayaking and Stand up paddle boarding as well as our always popular mud assault course. These and more can be viewed on our ‘Activities’ page.  All sessions are led by fully qualified instructors, all of whom are also First Aid qualified and DBS checked. The activity package can be bespoke to your requirements and can include fieldwork options led by former Geography and Science teachers on  our staff.

Unlike many centres we are happy to consider short breaks of 2 or 3 nights as well as the more popular 4 nights. We offer deals for the ‘fringe season’ dates, especially before the National tests and SATS.

College Multi Activity Courses & Trips

We offer to college students a practical skills based programme tailored to the needs of students on courses such as Public Services, Sport and Recreation, Leisure and Tourism, NVQ Outdoor Education and NVQ Sports Science.

We can deliver the practical skills found in BTEC 1st Diplomas and National Diplomas such as: Skills for Land & Water Based Outdoor Adventurous Activities, Team Development & Team Work Skills and Navigation using a Map & Compass. We’ve worked with numerous colleges who provide Public Service courses and an excellent course tailored to meet the requirements of those students.

We can cater for residential groups of up to 100 in  chalets and bunkhouses. The food is good and there’s lots of it and we have a fantastic range of activities including Kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing, Climbing, Abseiling, High Ropes Challenge, Zip-Wire, Archery, Assault Course, Orienteering, Wilderness Skills and much, much more. Evening activities are also provided- sometimes these are related to the course e.g. route planning. The courses are led and developed by qualified instructors to provide high quality experiences tailored to meet your student’s needs. We value the input of course tutors before and during the trip so please ring us to discuss your particular requirements on 07077 543396.

We also work with colleges who are looking to broaden the skills and experience of students participating in all manner of courses. Our tailored programs can offer a focus to celebrate the end of a course or can provide a boost at the start of a new course to bring students together and form a cooperative team or unit. An outdoor activities course is a brilliant way of getting to know your students and to break down barriers within the group. Students forge positive working relationships with their peer group and with tutors- the effects of which can be used as soon as you’re back at campus.

Outdoor activities are perfect for fulfilling the requirements & meeting the targets of various units containing elements such as leadership, health & safety, planning & preparation & navigation. Mock rescues of an injured person from a ravine, planning and completing a walk in the hills or preparing for a river trip – We can deliver the practical skills that will bring out the best in your students. Contact us for more details and to discuss your group’s requirements.

University Groups

Many university courses include teaching of a broader range of skills than the course title would suggest. These include leadership, communication, motivation, negotiation, team-working skills and improving performance. These can all be achieved through an innovative approach using a combination of problem solving challenges and adventurous activities. What better way to develop skills and knowledge than through a hands-on and practical approach to learning.

Our ‘Fly High’ package includes the fantastic Sky Tower activities coupled with Team Challenges such as the Spider’s Web & Swing Thing. These provide a fantastic opportunity for students to work together and fertile ground for learning. Contact us for more details or to arrange a preview.

Get in touch and we will arrange to have a discussion about your requirements or we can come and see you at the school. You are very welcome to visit us to have a look around and we can come to the school to do a presentation / Q&A before your visit.
