Health & Safety
All activities provided to clients of Antur Llain are provided by ‘Activity Pembrokeshire’ who are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service, (part of the H&S executive) to provide adventure activities to under 18s.
Since 1997 all activity providers must have a Government licence (ALAA). An independent inspection that covers a wide range of health and safety issues looking at risk assessments and emergency procedures. The inspection also looks at internal training, how staff are monitored and the recording of any Health & Safety concerns. All safety equipment (climbing harnesses and buoyancy aids etc..) is properly maintained and all paperwork relating to these equipment checks are also reviewed in the ALAA inspection.
Activity Pembrokeshire’s license can be viewed at http://www.aals.org.uk/aals/provider_detail.php?ref_no=R2369
The activities that are not covered by the licence are taught by instructors with the relevant NGB qualifications, and who have undergone comprehensive in house training and assessments delivered by our senior staff and technical advisers. Written procedures for each activity are contained in the health and safety policy.
All Instructional staff hold First Aid certificates, have undergone DBS enhanced disclosure checks and are encouraged to attend regular continued professional development (CPD) courses.
